I’m writing this with a little bit a shame, in part because I have realized that people have actually enjoyed the story that I put out here, and by not updating for such a long period of time, I have let many consistent readers down… I myself know how infuriating an unfinished story can be, and that is far from the gift that I wanted to give to loyal readers.
I have always been meaning to continue writing Man of Last Millennium, but I kept pushing it back, further and further. I guess I can give a closer picture of what’s been happening in my life from before this project till now; as the least I can do for those who are wondering what happened.
I first began writing when I graduated high school, back in 2006. Throughout college, I continued to write, and even until after I graduated and began working; however progress was slow, and I pretty much just wrote whenever I felt like it.
It wasn’t until I began working full-time that I began to take writing more seriously. Around mid 2012, I left my full time job in Chicago and took a 7 month break from work to finish my first novel; a measly 85K words, but to me, a huge accomplishment.
After I finished, (sometime mid-to-late 2013) I rejoined the work force, aiming to continue polishing my work, but sadly it got pushed to the side as I began my new job responsibilities.
When I started writing Man of Last Millennium, it was back in 2015. At this point in time, my work had long ceased to be challenging, and I found myself with a lot of spare brain power to brainstorm (and daydream). I started releasing chapters in June 2015, and then continued pretty much every week until about November 2016.
However, I started a new job January 2016, and this is the time when I actually stopped WRITING chapters. This job did prove to be a continual challenge, and I found it very difficult to write. By the time November rolled around, I had already exhausted my buffer, and was clean out.
I had always intended to resume writing chapters by the time my buffer ran out, but to complicate matters, in November I made the decision to move to Indonesia. The next half year was spent figuring out the transition, and the past four months in Indonesia have been spent on adjusting and language learning. I am sorry to say that I put writing at the bottom of many priorities.
Currently, I am on a month and a half break, during which I intend to self-study language, and also write as much as I can. After the break, (February 5th), I cannot guarantee where I will be, but please know that I have every intention to continue MLM, to the best of my abilities.
I’ve made some changes to the site, changes meant to streamline the updating process, as well as the reading. I’ve also condensed the chapters into half, since previously chapters were separated by 1000 word segments (somewhat unnaturally). Hopefully now the chapters make a bit more sense.
Thank you all for your patience and your encouragement. It’s really amazing to know that there are people out there enjoying what I have created… I will do my best to respond properly to your hopes.
